| Your
Tandem Skydive starts with 1/2 hour of ground preparation.
The instructor wears special equipment built to take
2 people skydiving, and you wear a harness that attaches
to the instructor's equipment at 4 points: (2 shoulder
connectors & 2 hip connectors). You are very secure!
The airplane ride to 10,000 ft or 12,500 ft is 10-20
minutes (depending on airplane used), then you freefall
out of the plane for an amazing 35 - 50 seconds before
the instructor opens the main parachute. To finish your
skydive experience, you help fly the parachute back
to the landing area. The Tandem skydive requires a time
commitment of 3-4 hours. For
prices, please contact our office.
ONCE
IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE? - GET VIDEO OF YOUR SKYDIVE!!
Your
cameraman will start your video with a pre-jump interview
followed by some of your gear-up. He'll meet you at
the plane for some in-flight footage, climbs out of
the plane with your tandem pair & leaves the plane
with you to record some of the exit, the freefall and
parachute opening. The cameraman will get down to the
landing area and record your landing and post jump comments,
then edits it all to music on to a DVD. Please
book video when you make your skydive reservation to
confirm cameraman availability.
Please note: Video is only available
on a one-on-one basis as the cameraman can only skydive
with one tandem pair. If you are skydiving with a group
our big plane can take up to 5 tandem pairs and 4 camerman
on the same load. |
| Pre-requisite:
One Tandem Skydive.
Please
note: The Solo course requires the ability to make decisions
in a very fast moving and high stress environment. You
must accept all responsibility for your own safety when
making a solo skydive. Your failure to make the correct
decisions during a solo skydive can result in severe
injury or death.
You receive approx. 5 hours of ground school
followed by a comprehension test and one skydive from
4,000 feet. The Solo course teaches skydiving foundation
skills - a significant portion of the class involves
learning how to determine if your main parachute has
opened correctly and if not, how to perform the necessary
emergency procedure. During the course you will be taught
each skill used on the skydive and will practice them
with your instructor, then demonstrate them correctly
before being cleared to write the comprehension test.
For your skydive the on-board instructor (or "jumpmaster")
will take you to 4,000 feet where the plane will do
individual passes for each of your exits. On your exit
you will climb out of the plane and hang off the strut
of the airplane - all practiced until perfect during
the ground-school. When the instructor gives you the
"go" command you make your skydive - he starts the main
parachute opening as you let go. It takes the main parachute
3 - 5 seconds to open and start flying. You
are solely responsible for doing the Flight Control
Check to determine if the parachute is safe to fly and
land or if you are having a malfunction. Malfunctions
are rare, but we do practice the procedure for dealing
with one prior to every skydive we make. Once you know
you have a "good" parachute above your head it is yours
to fly and land. Lots of adrenalin when making your
first solo skydive!
Please come well rested and bring a lunch. The course
instructor and Pacific Skydivers management reserve
the right to decide if you are ready to make a solo
skydive based on your performance and attitude demonstrated
during the course.
